John McGuinness working for you in Carlow and Kilkenny
New housing units for Kilkenny SOS
Deputy John McGuinness is pleased to confirm that SOS Kilkenny has been granted funding for the provision of 15 new housing units at Nuncio Road. The units will cater for people who have specific needs."This fundIng comes as part of a significant capital investment of over €157m for a range of housing projects which will provide some 924 units of accommodation for people with specific categories of need including older people, persons with an intellectual, mental or physical disability and homeless persons throughout the country," said Deputy John McGuinness.
"These projects are sited at over 70 locations around the country and Im delighted Kilkenny is a part of it considering the excellent work carried out at the SOS. Approved housing bodies, in partnership with the local authorities, will now progress these projects," concluded Deputy McGuinness.
Na Fianna canvass local politicians for support
Local ballad group Na Fianna, who are in the final stages of RTE’s ‘All Ireland Talent Show,’ have been touring around the country gathering support in a bid to win the public vote on February 21st.
On Saturday they called into Deputy John McGuinnesses Constituency Office where they met John and his son Cllr Andrew McGuinness and for a change, canvassed them for support.
